The Future of Health Care is here

When we set out to create our Direct Primary Care (DPC) program, I sat down with our doctors and medical providers and asked, How can we do this, and how can we do it right? DPC isn’t a new concept—it’s been around for years—but I wanted to ensure that our approach was easy, transparent, and, most importantly, always put our patients first. From the beginning, our mission has been clear: to serve our communities and make healthcare accessible to everyone. We founded our practice over three years ago with the belief that healthcare is not a privilege but a right, and this Direct primary care program is a natural extension of that commitment. By removing barriers like hidden fees and insurance roadblocks, we are creating a model that prioritizes personalized, high-quality care—because our patients deserve nothing less.

FAQs

  • DPC is a membership-based healthcare model that provides unlimited telehealth visits for minor health concerns like sinus infections, rashes, UTIs, and routine healthcare. For a flat monthly fee, you get direct access to care without co-pays, hidden fees, or the hassle of insurance.

  • DPC itself does not bill insurance, which keeps costs low and transparent. However, we can e-prescribe prescriptions directly to your local pharmacy, where you can use your insurance to cover medication costs. For those without insurance, we can recommend affordable medication options or discount programs.

  • Your membership covers all included services with no extra fees. The only additional costs are for discounted lab work, prescriptions at pharmacies, and any medications provided in-office.

  • At Mountain West Medical Spa, our Direct Primary Care (DPC) membership is designed to address a wide range of minor, non-emergency health concerns. Here are some examples of what we can help with:

    1. Respiratory Issues

We provide treatment for common respiratory problems that don’t require urgent in-person care:

    • Sinus infections (sinusitis)

    • Common colds and congestion

    • Mild bronchitis

    • Seasonal allergies or flare-ups

    2. Skin Conditions

Using telehealth, we can diagnose and treat many skin-related concerns with photos or video:

    • Rashes (e.g., contact dermatitis, eczema, or allergic reactions)

    • Acne (mild to moderate)

    • Fungal infections (e.g., athlete’s foot, ringworm)

    • Bug bites or stings (non-severe reactions)

    • Cold sores or minor skin irritations

    3. Urinary and Reproductive Health

We can provide quick relief for many urinary and reproductive health concerns:

    • Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs)

    • Yeast infections

    • Bacterial vaginosis (BV)

    • Minor menstrual concerns, such as irregular periods

    4. Minor Gastrointestinal Issues

Our providers can assist with common stomach or digestive problems, including:

    • Mild food poisoning

    • Constipation or diarrhea

    • Acid reflux (GERD)

    • Minor hemorrhoids

    5. Ear, Nose, and Throat Concerns

We address minor ENT issues that can be assessed via telehealth:

    • Sore throats (including suspected strep throat, based on symptoms)

    • Ear infections or ear pain (e.g., swimmer’s ear)

    • Nasal congestion or nosebleeds

    • Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)

    6. Headaches and Migraines

We can help diagnose and manage:

    • Tension headaches

    • Migraines (mild to moderate, without neurological symptoms)

    • Guidance on prevention and over-the-counter or prescription treatments

    7. Mild Injuries and Musculoskeletal Concerns

For minor injuries and muscle issues, we can provide advice and treatment:

    • Sprains and strains (non-severe)

    • Back pain from overuse or posture issues

    • Mild joint pain or stiffness

    8. Eye Irritations

Through telehealth, we can diagnose and treat minor eye conditions:

    • Conjunctivitis (pink eye)

    • Dry eyes or mild irritation

    • Allergic reactions affecting the eyes

    9. Mental Health Concerns

While we don’t treat complex mental health conditions, we can assist with:

    • Screening for anxiety or mild depression

    • Providing guidance and support for stress management

    • Referrals for more specialized mental health care, if needed

    10. Preventative Care and Lifestyle Support

While not specific to acute issues, we also help patients prevent future problems through:

    • Health coaching and lifestyle advice (e.g., weight management, smoking cessation)

    • General wellness check-ins

    What We Don’t Treat

It’s important to note that DPAC is for minor acute care only. Conditions that require in-person exams, advanced diagnostics, or emergency care (like chest pain, broken bones, or severe infections) are outside the scope of this service. However, if we determine your condition needs further attention, we’ll guide you to the right provider or facility for care.

  • DPC eliminates insurance billing, allowing for more direct, personalized care. Members enjoy unlimited visits, routine lab work, telehealth, and easy access to their provider without worrying about high deductibles or co-pays.

  • No, DPC is not a replacement for health insurance, but it’s a powerful way to enhance your healthcare experience while saving you money and time. Insurance is still essential for emergencies, hospital visits, specialist care, and other high-cost medical needs. However, DPC is designed to fill the gaps that insurance doesn’t cover and eliminate many of the frustrations patients face with traditional healthcare.

With DPC, there’s no need to search for in-network providers, wait weeks for an appointment with your primary care physician, or worry about co-pays for minor issues like sinus infections or UTIs. Instead, you’ll enjoy easy, immediate access to care, all for one predictable flat fee. Our goal is to provide you with convenient, affordable healthcare that complements your insurance, giving you more control over your health and reducing unnecessary out-of-pocket expenses. DPC simplifies the process, ensuring that you get the care you need when you need it—without the hassle.

  • Scheduling is simple! Members can book telehealth appointments through our secure online portal or by calling our office. Same-day and next-day appointments are often available for urgent needs.
